Good News!

I’m happy to announce that I am now a proud owner of a small business. It’s not much at the moment but it somehow helps put food on the table. Plus, it allows me to turn a profit from what used to be a mere hobby.

For months, I had tried really hard to look for small business ideas. My criteria were simple: It should be able to generate a reasonable profit, it should be able to afford me with enough free time to spend with my four-year-old daughter, and it should be able to offer sufficient room for improvement in case I decide to expand the business someday.

The answer was actually right under my nose. It dawned on me while I was baking cookies for my friend’s going-away party. I said to myself, “why not turn this hobby into a lucrative venture?” So I did!

I currently sell my homemade baked goodies to a local coffee shop, and I also accept orders from friends and acquaintances on my spare time. In the future, when my kid is old enough to attend school, I intend to open up my own bakeshop. For now, I’m happy being a full-time mom/part-time businesswoman.
